This year The BCRF Hot Pink Party was held on April 12th at the Warldorf Astoria. An amazing evening that raises money for Breast Cancer Research, this event celebrates and gives hope to all those effected by breast cancer. With the money donated more grants are given to the amazing Doctors doing research in the field.

I always know Spring has arrived and the season is beginning when I get to attend and photograph the Annual Studio Museum in Harlem Spring Lunch at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in NY. 

This year was their 10th lunch and like every year the women came beautifully and colorfully dressed and so excited to see each other. 

NY's First Lady, Chirlane Mc Cray was in attendance and was kept very busy meeting and greeting friends old and new as Thelma Golden escorted her to her seat.

Last night was the Carnegie Hall 125th Anniversary  Gala  with an evening at Carnegie Hall hosted by Richard Gere followed by a black tie dinner at The Waldorf Astoria.
I did things a little differently Last night. Still playing with my new 500mm sense I photographed the guests by the stairs as they arrived for cocktails. It is always so fun seeing everyone and and as always Mr and Mrs Weill looked wonderful and graciously stopped for a photo before entering into cocktails.

New York City Ballet held its annual Spring Ball last Wednesday night at The David Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. Even though it was freezing on the red carpet, everyone removed their coats so we could photograph them in their beautiful gowns.
After the performance the guests sat down to dinner surrounded by the beautiful decor created by the always talented DeJuan Stroud.

On April 26th and April 27th Hope Funds For Cancer Research celebrated its 10 year Anniversary with panel discussions, a Ladies Lunch and a Black Tie Dinner in NY bringing together many of the greatest names in Cancer Research. It was amazing to be in the rooms filled with Professors, inventors, mentors and fresh young minds all eager to learn and share as they came together with the focus on rare forms of cancer and the future of funding and research. Hope Funds supports its Fellows beyond the financial level introducing and cross pollinating the up and rising stars of Cancer Research with those who have lead the way.
I love to watch as the room becomes alive with chatter and conversation as people meet their heroes, Dr's who's papers have been taught and studied, others who have made discoveries that have changed the course of science, everyone full of eagerness knowing they are in a room where they all talk the same language, and while I confess it is a language I do not understand I feel their passion and know that these are the people who are working every day to find the cures for cancer and to make this world a better place.

Always one of my most favorite jobs because it includes dancers of all ages, not just the guests but the students and company of Ballet Hispanico who come together to celebrate Latino Culture with their love of all types of dance but especially dance with it routes in the rhythms and sounds of South America.
There are performances by the Company and the students followed by the guests who all seem to know how to samba and cha cha cha.

At last I am able to share the  2016 Save Venice Ball at The Pierre sponsored by Dolce & Gabbana also known as Un Ballo In Maschera. As always it was the best dressed most fun party to photograph.

Everyone looked fabulous. After trying to get as many couples as possible as they entered into the rotunda of the hotel I moved into cocktails where the party was already in full swing.
Guests then walked up to the ballroom for dinner.

After they had finished dinner there was dancing in the ballroom. I found my favorite corner and took portraits of people as they walked by.

It was such an amazing evening last night at The Hope Funds For Cancer Research White Tie Dinner and Dance at The Elms in Newport Road Island.
After a rainy afternoon I am glad to report the weather held out for the guests arrivals. It was so fun to see the men look so dashing in the white tie and the women in their beautiful ball gowns in what has to be one of the most glamorous homes in Newport.

Last Friday was Hope Funds For Cancer Research Women & Science Panel Discussion & Luncheon held at the International Tennis hall of Fame on the USTA Wing Veranda where we had a beautiful view of the grass tennis court below. The panel discussion was so interesting as we heard some of the challenges and some of the highlights facing women in scientific research in America.

On August 10th I flew to Boston to photograph the Hope Funds for Cancer Research Lunch and Fellows Laboratory Tour. It was a fascinating day.

We met at Catalyst Restaurant where conversations were not just about the weather. Everyone was eager and excited to get to visit The Broad Institute, The Whitehead Institute and The Koch Center for Integrative Cancer Research.

After a delicious meal we headed over to begin our tour and for the next 3 hours we spent time with different researchers at the different labs as they expressed their passion for the work they do and showed us with pride where they worked and told us a little about what they were doing.

At the end I saw a sign that really said it all. These tireless researchers who are searching to find the cures for cancer just never give up. They are my heroes.

Fashion Week may have come and gone but Fashion was the focus on the Red Carpet at this years New York City Ballet Fall Gala.
Sarah Jessica Parker looked stunning and arrived with her handsome husband Matthew Broderick. It was Sarah Jessica who came up with the idea to create an evening of ballet and fashion several years ago and has been a very strong supporter ever since.
